When was the last successful reunion we had? Can we try to put one together? Or maybe a unofficial gathering? Anyone interested? I know I've been out of touch for years, I apologize. I would like to make amends as best I can. Let me know yalls thoughts.

Since I have received no responses or interest, I have dropped the idea. I will now be taking my wife on a cruise for our anniversary during that time frame. We were married on the 9th of November.

I can go back pretty far in memory. I recall when the intersection was much different, there was an old service station pretty close to the road. I remember waiting in line on alternating days to get gas with my mother in the 70s.

I remember when Keystone Beach was booming, as opposed to the way it is now, just like a lot of the other lakes, they have really gone down and Lake Geneva is one of the worst in that respect.

I also remember the old Keystone Motel right near Keystone Beach, which now is gone. Actually that place was probably haunted, and I was sad to hear of its passing.

I remember walking every square inch of Keystone, almost every day after school and any other time I deemed appropriate.

I remember places that were there, and are not there anymore. One of those places was a garage that my grandfather built, right there on Hwy 21.

I remember always coming home to an empty house from an early age, and walking for hours in the woods following large tortoises around, looking at animal tracks, and little mosses.

I remember the day I was walking near the intersection, I crossed the railroad track, and there was an antique bottle of 7up that said, "You like it, it likes you."

I remember, especially, falling asleep to the sound of whippoorwills in the distance of the night, and I was so soothed by that, I deeply miss it.

There are just too many memories to post! :D

Hopeful Plans for 2010

Hi There!

I was just thinking, what if some of us did actually pick a weekend this spring 2010 to meet out at Goldhead State Park, have a cookout and stuff? I would most certainly be willing to set up and play you some music on guitar and anyone else who plays an instrument, well let's have us a good ol' KH hoe-down! Some of my ancestors were musicians in KH in the early 20th century, I think it only appropriate that we follow in the footsteps of our heritages.

I do not see why people from other class years could not show up as well! Who's in?

I spoke to the representative of the Sheraton Safari in Orlando yesterday morning. She gave me all kinds of options for this event.

She said that we could get a reduced room rate for this event. I’m going to see if I can get $79 a night for Class of ’79. I was thinking that folks could stay there Friday night and Saturday night with checkout Sunday Morning - but that will be up to the individual family.

For a plated dinner it is about $25.00 a head. For a buffet on Friday night it is also about $25.00 a head. She said including the rental of the banquet room, taxes and gratuities it would come to about $32.50 a head. This is based on about 30 class members + family for about 100 people. Now of course there may be more people coming, so the rate will go up of course.

Disney will be Saturday. They have shuttles to and from Disney, so transportation will not be a problem. They also sell Disney tickets there at the hotel so maybe they will give us a good rate.

My Wife, Son and I are going down to Sea World in January and we will stay at this hotel. I will again talk to the Sheraton representative and she will take me on a tour of the place.

I will post again when I have more news.

Actually, what you want to do is go to your photos and set one of them as your "master photo". When you do that, it should show your Master Photo on any posts, rather than your senior photo.
